Waitrose appoints new Customer Director

  • Nathan Ansell has been appointed as Waitrose new Customer Director reporting to Waitrose Executive Director, James Bailey.
  • He replaces Martin George who leaves after five years with the company. 

Starting in January 2023, Nathan will be responsible for further developing our multi-channel customer strategy through a sharper focus on quality, value, service and sustainability. 

Nathan is an accomplished commercial leader with over 20 years experience across retail and FMCG.  He joins the company from UK consumer agency, House 337; prior to which he gained 10 years retail experience at M&S, most recently as Marketing Director. He has also held a number of FMCG marketing roles for brands that are household names including Heinz, Birds Eye and Red Bull.

Commenting on the appointment James Bailey, Executive Director for Waitrose said; “In a climate where customer trust has rarely been more important, the Waitrose brand stands head  and shoulders above all others with our commitment to quality, value, service and sustainability. We see huge potential to grow the brand and reach new customers. I’m delighted to welcome Nathan who shares our values and brings a broad set of skills and experience to this critical role.”
